1. Choose at least two search tools to review. You can use the Searching Success Hotlist: http://tinyurl.com/24m4sr or find search tools on your own.
2. Review the search tools, and post your review in the format listed under Post Elements and Directions (below). Be sure to try several searches (keywords) with each tool, to determine how effective the results are with each search. Keep a list of the keywords you used.
2. Do not review search tools that have already been reviewed on this blog. If someone posts before you, choose another tool. If you have information on a tool that has already been previewed, add it to the post comments. Make sure you list your name on as the reviewer. You can go back and add to a previous post that you made, so if you are starting to review, you can post the preliminary review and add to it later.
Cut and paste is the easiest way to pull information from the tool itself. You can also copy the Search Turtle review post, and replace the information with your own. If you add any pictures, keep them small. Remember, keep your reviews positive, and academic. This is a class assignment.
3. Choose 2 additional posts to add comments. These are the posts of your classmates, and you should add to the information about the search tool. In total, you will review a minimum of 4 search tools. Two of the reviews will be your own reviews and 2 will be comments on the reviews of others.
Post Title: Use the following format: Type: Title URL: Copy and paste the exact URL Info: This is usually the information from the site. Feel free to copy and paste their information here. You may have to edit the information. This should not be more than 1 or 2 short paragraphs Special Features: List the special features of this site Review: This is your subjective opinion of the site, listing both pros and cons. Be prepared to defend your opinion in comments. Uses: How did you use this site, and for what purposes. Rating: use the @ symbol and rate according the the Rating Guide Reviewed by: You must give your name (first initial, last name).
Keywords: This is essential for searching the blog later. Put in all the search words that you feel would help someone who is looking for the information in your post.

Comments: You can also COMMENT on another post that was made, if you tried the site as well. Be sure that you post comments with your name (first initial, last name), and that your comments add to the information already in the post. If you disagree with the original post author, be sure the state why you disagree, and what your experience was in using the site.
